Have you ever laid your eyes on antique timepieces? No, we’re not talking about the vintage ’70s watch your dad passed on to you a few years ago. We mean the real deal – like those classic pocket watches that have been preserved in mint condition over several centuries, and are regarded as family heirlooms. You know, the type one would see in the movies.

Well, if you haven’t, you’re in luck. Longines has put some of its earliest collection of watches on display inside its boutique, which opened at Suria KLCC on 20 June. Originally exhibited at Longines Museum at the company’s headquarters in Switzerland, these nine pocket watches date all the way back to the 19th century.

Aside from the shiny gold and silver pocket watches, a large video screen in the store displays videos of the luxury brand’s long and rich history in watchmaking.
