Reveries & Reviews receives The Versatile Blogger Award

Woot, Reveries & Reviews is on a roll! A few days after bagging the Sunshine Blogger Award earlier in November, my almost three-month old blog receives another recognition, The Versatile Blogger Award. And I would like to thank the amazing bloggers behind Ai Love Music and Key Diaries for the nomination.

I feel so lucky getting to know these passionate people online, especially the kind of support that I receive from them. Hope you do check their websites as they both produce very interesting topics to read about — music and motherhood.

7 Facts About Me:

I am pregnant. I am currently on the 37th week into my first ever pregnancy, and I could be popping our baby boy anytime now in the next 3 weeks. I’m set to have a normal delivery, and just thinking about it scares the hell out of me. There’s a lot of things going in my head right now, but I think they deserve separate posts on their own. :p

I was born at home. Apparently, I came earlier than expected that left my dad with no time to rush my mom to the hospital as planned. So she delivered me — healthy and strong — right inside our home 33 years ago. Thank God they had a midwife for a neighbor. No wonder I’m such a home buddy.

I was a print journalist and multimedia reporter for almost a decade. Before I moved to Kuala Lumpur, I used to work as a journalist, writing mostly about politics for The Philippine Chronicle, The Manila Bulletin, Yahoo! Southeast Asia, and The Christian Times in Manila for 8 years. It was the best job in the world, but I had to give it up so that I can fulfil a bigger dream of mine — to start my own family.

I am a Filipino living in Kuala Lumpur. Three years ago, I married the funniest and the most loving person in the world and decided to settle down in his home country, Malaysia. Leaving my friends, and family behind was terrifying, but it was one of the best decisions I made in my life.

I love chocolates. And I just can’t stop eating them especially in the last few weeks. Please don’t mom-shame me for not having a stronger self-control.

I am a Muslim convert. I was born and raised a Catholic in the Philippines. I was even educated in Dominican-run educational institutions, but that didn’t stop me from converting and discovering the beautiful religion of Islam. You can read more about it here.

I am big Game of Thrones fan. I am one of the viewers who got hooked on the show while its first season was still airing. I also read all the books. But to be honest, I’m not so excited with the upcoming final season considering how the creators handled the screenplay in Season 7. It was really disappointing because the creators clearly wrote the storyline to please fans. The genius of GRR Martin was just not there. And with him being very busy trying to finish off the A Song of Fire and Ice sequels and with talks of a new GoT spin-off, I doubt if he ever had a say of what’s to come in Season 8. But that’s just me.

  3. Woah! Same with Game of Thrones! Read all books, watched the shows from the get go, and not excited for the final season because of how they handled the 7th season.

  5. Ahhhh this is so lovely! Congratulations on the baby! Also, being a student journalist my entire elementary-high school-college life, my dream job is to be a real journalist in a real publication, but I wasn’t able to get a journalism degree. I think I was really born to be a teacher. 😀

    1. Awww thanks! U dont need to a degree to get into it. I know a lot of journos who have non-communication degrees but are still good at the job! Hey, but being a teacher is equally if not more noble 🙂 At least, you can talk about your favourite books ❤️
